CERAMICS - Hand Building and Glazing combo

This is a 2-part workshop.

Hand Building workshop, part 1.
In this clay workshop I will teach you various techniques for you to create your own ceramic clay treasures.  I will explain the clay/pottery process and show you some simple hand building techniques such as pinching, coiling, slab construction, scoring and carving for you to create your unique object d'art.

You will receive loads of experience and advice tips, clay, of course and the use of stamps - that I have made, and tools. Basically, everything you need to know so that you will feel confident in this creative process so you can make whatever you desire, trinket bowls, tumblers, vases, coasters, flowers, cylinders etc.  You can check online for ideas too.

At the end of this session, your creation will be left in the studio for drying and a bisque firing before you return in about 2 weeks' time.

If you have seen the Great Pottery Throw Down, then you will have some idea of this lengthy ceramic process.

Glazing workshop, part 2.
This is where you get to add colour to your creations and bring them to life! I will explain the various techniques, applications and explain the differences between underglazes and glazes that you will use to do this.

Once again, you will leave your coloured creations in the studio for drying and a Glaze firing.  I will contact you in about 2 weeks for you to collect you creation from the studio.

DATES can be found on the HOME page.  Should these workshops be fully booked, you may like to have your name added to the waiting list and I will notify you when a space becomes available.
